Zusammenfassung

Technical data of dairy sheep 33 farms in NW of Ciudad Real province (Spain) are studied. The selected farms are representative of the area, where sheep milk and cheese production is traditional. We classified farms into two groups according to the type of sheep breed: manchega (11 farms) or foreing breeds (22 farms), mainly lacaune. No differences in milk or lamb production parameters were found. Manchega’s milk was sold at higher prices than lacaune. We discuss the future agrotourism possibilities in relation to sheep farming in the study area.
