Resumen
Feeding practices are one of the main factors that affect the composition andproduction of sheep milk. The systems of sheep milk quality control have aparticular interest in all matters relating to protein/casein contents and urealevel. The aim of the study has been to know the behavior of the principalparameters of sheep milk composition, especially in relation with the type offood provided in lactating sheep and the season effects with acorrespondence statistical analysis. For this purpose, a total of 308 bulk-tankmilk samples (one sample per season and farm enrolled), were collectedfrom 77 Manchega sheep farms between 2012 and 2013. The results showthe association of milk composition and production with the feeding strategyof ewes. A more exhaustive control of feed rations is necessary regarding tocrude protein and energy contents according to bulk tank milk productivelevel of the farm to prevent high level of milk urea.
